2007 Summer Camp

Conveniently located in the former Toronto Stock Exchange building at the foot of Bay Street, the Design Exchange offers exciting and educational March Break activities for campers, ages 7 - 12 years old.
In conjunction with the Design Exchange exhibit Japanese Design Today 100, Young Designers will experience both traditional and contemporary Japanese design. Each day of the DX March Break Camp will explore a different aspect of Japanese culture. From examining vintage Japanese kimonos to rolling your own sushi, Young Designers will see, learn, and experience one of the most exciting and innovative design cultures in the world.
Five, one-day sessions will explore: ryuugi, Japanese fashion; shokuryou, Japanese culinary arts; washi & sumi, Japanese paper & ink; kenchiku, Japanese architecture; and anime, Japanese animation.

March Break Design Camp

Do you ever watch Pokémon or Dragon Ball Z? Why not make your own anime character? Do you ever find yourself craving sushi? Why not learn how to roll sushi at home? This years March Break camp will give you the opportunity to explore these exciting aspects of Japanese design and culture.

March Break camp dates: Monday March 12, 2007 to Friday March 16, 2007

Age Groups: 7 to 12 (groups will be coordinated)

Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm (Extended care available)

Registration fee: $325 for non DX members, and $295 for DX members.
Price includes all materials, transportation costs and applicable taxes.

South of King Street in the historic Toronto Stock Exchange building. Easy to reach by TTC, at walking distance from either King or Union subway station or by the King streetcar or Bay Street bus.
