The competition promotes the study and awareness of various design disciplines in schools across Canada.

The competition is open to all high school students, at the junior (grades 10 and below) and senior (grades 11 +12) levels. Prizes will be awarded at each grade level, in five categories – Architecture/Interior Design, Costume Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Industrial Design.


Students can work individually or in teams. There is no maximum number of students permitted for a group submission. All entries must be mounted on 11"x17" cardstock or foamcore and mailed to Design Exchange.

All entries will be judged in May 2017 by a panel of professional designers and Sears Canada product managers.
All winning and honourable mention entries will receive certificates. First, second, and third placements in each category, at each level, will receive cash prizes as follows:

1. Complete the Student Registration Form below or fill out by hand by printing the form here and submitting to education@dx.org

2. Label the back of your project with the Student Name, School Name, Grade Level, and Category

3. Mail your labelled entry to:
