This historical building (Toronto’s original Stock Exchange) situated in the heart of Toronto’s financial district offers art moderne style of architecture conveying a sense of exclusivity and achievement. Warm wood and cool marble finishes combine for a genuinely stunning physical setting. The Design Exchange provides a variety of spaces which serve as a stunning backdrop for every style of event whether business meeting, conference, product launch, gala, wedding, social event or film shoot.

The award-winning DX Event Coordination team, in partnership with the top-ranking service providers in the industry, work with you to create the ultimate experience for you and your guests, whatever the occasion.

When you book your event at this historical building, your patronage supports DX exhibitions, talks and youth programs. Additionally a Heritage Fee applied to the booking of the Historic Trading Floor, helping to up hold the building’s grandeur through continued restoration.

The Historic Trading Floor

A multi-million dollar restoration has returned the Trading Floor to its 1937 art deco splendor. With breathtaking 40 foot high ceilings, and 8 murals by renowned artist Charles Comfort with the elegant entrance of the INCO grand staircase, The Historic Trading Floor is an unrivalled event environment. The Library

This beautiful, brightly lit room overlooks the bustling corner of King and Bay with floor to ceiling windows making the space ideal for cocktail receptions, product launches, meetings and presentations.

Exhibit Hall

The DX is pleased to have the only exhibit hall in North America dedicated to design. The space occupies most of the third floor and is adjacent to the Permanent Collection. The Exhibit Hall provides an ideal setting for cocktail receptions.

This space is available for bookings concurrent with most exhibitions. Please inquire about integrating curatorial tours.

This sophisticated boardroom with an adjacent breakout lounge offers an extraordinary view of the heart of Canada’s financial district.

The Chalmers Design Centre

This public exhibition space is easily accessible from Bay Street or from the TD Centre Concourse.

Studio

The Studio space is conveniently located on the ground floor and can hold up to 30 people theatre style. This room includes a TV and DVD player for presentation purposes. Often used as a breakout room, it is also a convenient space for short meetings, mini lectures, and workshops.

patty watt room

This room is a mid-sized multi-purpose space that offers privacy and convenience accommodating up to 60 people. This room includes a large projection screen and is Internet accessible. Small press conferences, private lunches, cocktail receptions and seminars are best suites for this meeting space
