What a GREAT PARTY! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, 2009.
The DX Black & White Fundraising Gala was a fantastic event this year! Sponsored by Audi, TD and RIM and many other partners and suppliers, the DX created and hosted a fantastic evening full of COMMOTION. The evening honoured RIM's industrial design team, Todd Wood, VP Industrial Design and Jason Griffin, VP Advanced Ergonomics. There was wonderful entertainment - including two live bands, a DJ, a singer, dancers and an ice skater - and a fabulous auction and raffle. Check our FLICKER for photos. Stay tuned for next year!

Support the DX, Attend the Annual Black and White Gala!
This is an annual event held to support Design Exchange youth education programs. Proceeds fund programs that include the National High School Competition, the Connect post secondary design competitions, school group tours and workshops, Designers in the Classroom as well as march break and summer design camps. Our education programs are a vital part of DX programming, bringing educators and business together and bridging curriculum gaps. Our goal is to nurturing the next generation of design thinkers.
The DX Black and White Gala is held in October of each year. The first gala 'X' took place in 2004, the year of our tenth anniversary. We invited ten designers in ten disciplines to present their vision of design ten years from now. In 2005 the DX held its second gala with the theme “Illumination” referring to the city’s cultural renaissance. Themes that followed were 'In Steel Blue' in 2006, 'Feel This' in 2007 and 'Facade' in 2008.
The DX Gala has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the design industry. The evening begins with a private VIP dinner honouring a Canadian design leader, followed by a Gala party attended by 800 guests that includes live entertainment, fine catering and activities based on the annual theme.
