What is Sustainable Design?
1. Addressing the triple bottom line (economy, society
and environment) by meeting the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet
their own needs.
2. Integrating social, environmental, ethical and economic
practices in order to produce built environments that are
assets rather than burdens to future generations.
3. Producing objects using only renewable resources, and
which themselves, in operation, deplete only renewable
resources using integrated design approaches in order to
reduce our ecological footprint.
